Tiger wins a major in 2011? (5dimes)
Yes +125
No -165

what does everyone think about this wager? It seems like it has a lot of value with how inconsistant Tiger is these days. Since his debacle I havent seen him string together more than two rounds of good golf, so 4 on very difficult courses seems like a stretch. Also, he must just play in Masters for the play to have action, while slim he could also get hit with injury again and miss some summer golf

Thoughts..

Unbelievable how the odds have shifted on this guy. As a decent golfer myself, i know how important it is to have a clear mind at ALL times. Let it drift or have any negative thoughts and in a stretch of two or three holes you can shoot your way out of a tournament.

72 holes... Right now he is not a top 20 golfer in the United States with so many young stars emerging. Throw the Europeans in during the majors and he drops futher. He is battling demons that may take another year to get rid of. Having said all of this i would not bet into all of that juice although with most books you would have the opportunity to hedge during the tournament.

Yeah, if he doesnt win Augusta or the US Open, you could hedge for a solid profit

after his impressive showing (besides final round) in Dubai, 5 Dimes has dropped NO to -110!

With the large skilled fields at majors, I see a lot of value in this -110 number. I have officially played it for 3 units

Here's how I see it.... Tiger has about a 15% chance of winning the Masters. And if he doesnt pull off that 15% hit, which is actually his best chance of winning a major, there will be hedging opportunities all the way out at ~ 6 to 1

-165 is superb value, let alone -110; I would lay either of those numbers that Woods doesn't win any tournament, let alone a major. Looks like the Tiger fade train still has a little gas left in the tank valuewise.

The line at 5 Dimes is back to -160. I could lock in a profit with Yes @+130 but I think Ill just hang onto my ticket for now

This upcoming weekend is very pivotal on, Will Tiger win a major in 2011 line. I'm ready to add to my position on Monday the 14th if my foresight comes true.

Tiger has always played exceptionally well at Doral. During the 9 year stretch from 1999-2007, Tiger won the tournament 6 times(!), placed 9th, and tied for 5th (in '01 he didnt play). Ridiculously good record. So after a frustrating year+ of golf and life, this is the course Tiger can regain a bit of his mojo as the Tiger fan club would reemerge. If he does manage a Top 15 that line will drop from its current position at -165, if he misses the cut expect to never see -165 on NO again.

This is exactly why cancelling would be totally BS. People could have easily been hedging to guarantee a profit.
